When I first wondered, “Could you dance on a cliff?” I had no idea it would lead to decades of exploration—blending art, nature, and movement in ways that reimagine our relationship with gravity and go beyond the boundaries of traditional performance.

Now, seeing @bandalooping’s ethos of #verticalchoreography and environmental connection take the stage on Broadway in the @redwoodmusical (featuring the incomparable @idinamenzel) feels like a full-circle moment. This article captures the spirit of our journey—from climbing mountains to shaping new artistic frontiers.

If you believe in pushing boundaries, embracing risk with intention, and finding connection in movement, I invite you to read, comment, and share the #NYTFeature linked in my bio. #ThePowerofDance

We will begin in the studio, focusing on skills and movement scores to ignite our curiosity on the ground, in the air, and on the wall. We will amplify this investigation on a 115-foot wall to explore suspension, rotations, landings, partnering, and wall-running sequences. In a supportive environment, we will stretch our skills, self-expectations, and understanding of the form. We will prioritize discovery,
individualized artistry, and expanding the frontiers of our current practices. Photo by Jessica Swanson
